ABOUT ME
Hi there! I’m Kendall, and I’m so excited you’re exploring my website! This is where I share seasonal, vibrant California-inspired recipes along with highlights from cooking school and snapshots from my life in San Francisco.
Here are a few Q&A’s that will give you a better taste (pun intended!) for who I am:
WHERE ARE YOU FROM?
I’m originally from the Bay Area. I grew up in a small suburb of San Francisco in the East Bay. Growing up I was always exposed to fresh produce and California-style cooking (from my parents’ amazing cooking, the Bay Area restaurant scene and my family’s specialty grocery store chain), so that’s where I draw a lot of my inspiration.
HAVE YOU ALWAYS LIVED IN THE BAY AREA?
I moved to Los Angeles to attend college and after graduating, I stayed in LA for a couple of years, working at an advertising agency. While living down in LA, I couldn’t get enough of the food scene! I loved eating at Republique (I lived right across the street!), Gjusta, Sqirl, Jon & Vinny’s, Pizzeria Mozza, Bestia, …the list goes on and on! Now I’m dying to go back and try some of the newer spots that have popped up over the past few years!
WHAT DO YOU DO NOW?
After 6 years in LA, I moved back to the Bay Area to pursue a job at Williams Sonoma Inc. in Marketing for the West Elm brand. I still work full-time at WSI in marketing and just graduated Culinary School in January 2020 from San Francisco Culinary School (the part time program so I could maintain my job while attending school). Classes started in January 2019 and ended in August so that we could move into our restaurant externships. I did mine at one Michelin star restaurant, Octavia in Pac Heights.
WHAT INSPIRED YOU TO ATTEND CULINARY SCHOOL?
I wrote a more in-depth story on my passion for food + cooking and more details on culinary school. Part of it is actually taken from my essay application for cooking school. You can read it here.
IF YOU HAVE A QUESTION ON A RECIPE…
You can reach out to me in the blog post comments, via email or in my Instagram DMs with any questions. One of my favorite parts about this space is connecting with like-minded people who want to chat about food!
